Everything you need to know
Skilled Force Ltd carry out cavity wall insulation works and only use materials manufactured using the very latest technology. We have carried out cavity wall insulation contracts for many councils and housing trusts throughout the UK and also work alongside major utility companies.
Most modern homes are constructed with cavity walls, and filling these with insulating material can significantly reduce heat loss. To insulate your home, our team will drill a series of small holes into the outside wall of your property. Then, they will insert insulating material into the cavity using specialist equipment.
The insulating material can be made from a variety of different materials, but is usually made from recycled granulated mineral wool fibre or polystyrene beads. In effect, this creates a blanket effect that will prevent heat escaping and cold from entering. This means that you use less energy to keep your home warm, helping you save money on your bills.
Some walls are not suitable i.e. solid walls, timber framed (never suitable), Cavity less than 40-50 mm are usually too small, high-exposure coastal or upland areas, rubble filled cavity properties with internal cavity obstructions, system built properties, recently flooded properties.
Usually installed within one day.
You can lose 25% of heat through the roof of an uninsulated home, so insulating your loft or roof is a great way to lower your heating bills. Installed correctly, loft insulation should pay for itself many times over in its 40-year lifetime.
Heat rises, and in an un-insulated home that means a 25% of the warmth is lost through the roof. Laying a blanket of specialised insulation material in the loft or attic creates a barrier that reduces this heat loss. This means that you use less energy to keep your home warm, helping you save money on your bills.
Once completed our team will clear and remove all tools, waste and packaging, leaving you to enjoy the benefits of your loft insulation.
Some lofts are not suitable. e.g If condensation is present on rafters ,visible mould or musty, blocked ventilation ridge vents / soffit vents, old faulty wiring, asbestos insulation panels or pipe lagging, cables buried in insulation vermin present, loft is boarded, low head room or loft hatch too small.
